Hello Sparklies!

Hello Sparklies!

We've decided here at Sparkle HQ to start a blog. I'll be posting from time to time with what I hope will be interesting snippets of news and information.

To start this off, I thought I'd tell you a little bit about me and what Sparkle Town means to me. My name is Josie Boulter. I'm from North London but now live in Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire with my husband, Alex, and our two young children. I started Sparkle Town in 2019 because I wanted to make this fabulous, sparkly Biodegradable Glitter accessible to everyone. To me, this means covering everything from our 5ml tubs, all the way up to 100g tins. It needs to be affordable, Bioglitter is pricier than traditional plastic-based glitter, but that doesn't mean it needs to be out of reach. So we've made sure to keep a low price point and you can try our glitters for just £2.75.

Being kind to our planet and its inhabitants is super important to me, so everything we sell also needs to be ethical and sustainable. So all our glitters are biodegradable, made from sustainably sourced plants and are cruelty free. Our micas are mined responsibly, without the use of child labour, and are also cruelty free. But it doesn't stop there. Our micas and our larger glitter sizes are packaged in reusable tins and our 5ml glitters are packaged in reusable tubs, with biodegradable glassine refill pouches available to fill them back up whenever they run out. Even our postal packing is green, with our padded envelopes being plastic free, our boxes are made from sustainably sourced cardboard, and our packing peanuts are starch based and biodegradable.

I've got lots of grand plans for this year and going forward, including LOADS of gorgeous new glitters and mixes, wholesale packages on our 5ml tubs and a few other exciting thoughts that are formulating themselves inside my head. So while we're taking the world by sparkle, you can shop away know that everything you buy from us is sourced with our planet in mind.

That's it from me for now, I'll be back in a few days with my thoughts on our 'Three Words' survey that we'll be running this week (see our Insta for details).

Josie x
